Laser and Skin Care med spa spun off in 2005 from Dr Bakken’s medical clinic in Red Deer since 1978. It was the perfect marriage of a family practice, special interest in medical dermatology and a medical spa. In 2016 family practice in general was phased out to allow to focus on Medical dermatology and the medical spa.It allowed for complete Skin Care management – diagnostic and consulting, skin cancer and other skin disorders, laser needs, Hair loss management and anti-aging techniques. The clinic carries therapeutic skin and hair care for all kinds of needs. Dr. Bakken has advanced training to provide medical Botox use for migraine, TMJ (temporal mandibular joint disorders), and trigger point injections in muscles as well as control of abnormal sweating. Some of these are covered by Alberta health care or third party insurance companies.
