Southwest Pet is a family operated business.
The Unrau family has been in the Pet trade since November 1988. In 1998 Paul and Ruth Ann with their son Andrew opened Southwestern Pet Centre in Eastown Plaza on Dundas St.
The store quickly became the place to go for quality animals and product knowledge especially in reptiles. In 2004, the company won the “Retailer of the Year” award in the competitive category, one of twelve stores recognized globally that year.
After almost ten years at Dundas and First, the company had the opportunity to relocate to its present location at 1641 Dundas St. And Saskatoon St.
In 2016 we changed our name from Southwestern Pet Centre to Southwest pet.
Today the store is the largest independently owned Pet Store in London and is one of the foremost independent Pet Stores in Canada.
There are 3 generations currently working at the store. Recently Andrew purchased the company, while Bailey, his daughter, is in charge of marketing.
